New Dog Park Planned for Ludington

Brownie #2.JPG

A new Ludington Dog Park is being created on a one-acre piece of land in the northeast corner of Cartier Park off Slagle Road. Plans include a fenced-in area, signs, separate runs for small dogs, a bag and trash receptacle, and (in the future), benches and agility obstacles. This will be a great place for dogs of all sizes to exercise and burn off energy in a clean, safe environment without endangering or people or wildlife.

This project is being entirely funded by community and visitor donations. Members hope to raise $30,000, and checks are being accepted at P.O. Box 201, Ludington, MI 49431 or visit www.ludingtondogpark.com for more information. It is hoped that the Dog Park will be open by late-summer. It will be accessible by taking Rath Avenue north until it ends at Lincoln Lake, then turning left. The dog park is west of Rath in the woods.
