Featured Family Events in October

October 2018

The lakeshore communities of West Michigan do a fantastic job of hosting events and activities that include the whole family. There's so much happening that is geared specifically toward kids and families as a whole, and that's part of what makes being here so amazing!

Every season in West Michigan has it's unique, fun things to do for kids of all ages- from babies up to the "young at heart". Indoors or outdoors, no matter the time of year, there's always something great going on along the lakeshore for families to experience together!

In addition to the following list, check out the events happening throughout the month at Sandcastles Children's Museum and the Ludington and Scottville branches of the Mason County District Libraries!

Here's a list of family friendly events happening along the lakeshore in October:

Saturday, October 20th

10am & 1pm - West Michigan Old Engine Club tractor pulls at Scottville Riverside Park- 700 St. Scottville Rd. Dead Boat at 10am and Transfer Sled at 1pm.

10am-4pm - Arts & Craft Show at Shagway Arts Barn- 5949 Shagway Rd. in Ludington. Featuring live music by Swingtooth from 10am-12pm and The Locomotives from 1-3pm.

12pm - Corn hole tournament at the Sherman Township Hall- 3854 E. Main St. in Fountain. Sign up begins at noon with competition beginning at 1 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. The event will also include a fresh baked pie sale, gift raffles, and 50/50 raffle. All proceeds will support the 2019 Fountain Horse Pull and tow/fuel fund.

Sunday, October 21st, 1-4pm

Harvest Dinner at Sherman Township Hall- 3854 E. Main St. in Fountain. The event will include dinner, dessert and beverage at a cost of $10 per person ages 12 and older, $5 for children ages 4 to 11. Kids ages 3 and under are free. Take out is available. The event will also include horse drawn hay rides, 50/50 raffle, Chinese auction, checker tournament, and kids games. Proceeds will go towards the horse pull weight sled. Anyone with questions can call Kathy at (231)239-4461 or (231)462-3156.

Saturday, October 27th

10am - Boos, Brews, and Brats in Manistee.

6pm - Ludrock presents Night of Fright 6 at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts- 107 S. Harrison in Ludington.
