Ludington's Center for the Arts a Reality
Ludington Center for The Arts
There are moments in time that change the face of a community, and Ludington has the opportunity to add a new page to the history books. Through the hard work of the Arts Council, a new Center for the Arts will open in the spring of 2008.
As the United Methodist Church completes their new building on Bryant Road, the Arts Council will transform the historic church into a cultural center for all the arts. Planned renovations include:
Performance hall, with seating for over 200
Main floor gallery with rotating exhibits
New entrance and two-story atrium lobby
Gift shop, ticket office, and barrier free restrooms
Art studios, classrooms, and a large dance studio
Dressing rooms, offices, and meeting/classroom space on lower level
New elevator, providing barrier free access to all four levels
Because of its ideal location on South Harrison, right in the heart of downtown, visitors and locals alike can stop by after shopping or dinner, sit in the courtyard enjoying coffee, or stroll through the exhibits. As schools cut back on funding, the Center for the Arts becomes even more important for those wishing to find an outlet for their talent. Musicians, dancers, painters, sculptors, writers--everyone will be welcome at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts.
