Area Airports

Some arrive in Ludington by car--or by carferry--but you can also fly into the Mason County Airport, right off US-10 next to the fairgrounds. Set upon 238 acres, the airport has two asphalt-paved runways, at 3,500 feet and 5,000 feet long. They can accommodate any corporate jet or airplanes with up to 30 passenger seats.

Their on-site facility features a conference room, pilot's lounge, showers, kitchen, and the Ludington Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center. The Mason County Airport has hangars and offers quality 100LL and Jet A branded AvFuel for arriving and departing aircraft. If you're interested in chartering a plane, or want to take a pleasure ride over the top Ludington sights, airport manager Dave Johnson will be happy to make the arrangements.

About 40 minutes north of Ludington is Manistee's Blacker Airport. Their brand new terminal, dedicated in 2007, features a large passenger area, viewing area and visitor lounge. Midwest Connect has ended their service with Blacker Airport, but another carrier is being considered to continue connecting flights to 50 cities.

Muskegon County Airport, 50 minutes south of Ludington, flies to both Detroit and Milwaukee on either Northwest or Midwest Airlines. Its terminal features curved skylights which give an open, airy feel to the building. Inside, you'll find a restaurant, business center, and wireless internet throughout.
